Post Half Marathon, ASIFA East Awards, and FINALLY SPRING / by Katie Cropper Klein

Three weeks ago I ran the NYC Half Marathon and survived. Despite my fantastic planning, I'm sorry to say that I didn't train as well as I would have liked so my pace was not as great as I had hoped but definitely not what I would have described as 'bad' or some fantastic failure. I feel I should mention that I had to stop to pee at least once.

  • Total time: 2:48:25
  • Avg pace per mile: 12:51

It was WINDY as hell for the second half of the race that started as a loop around central park then dipping down time square and finishing along the west side highway with the finish line near wall street.

Overall I felt really pretty great but post race was pretty brutal on my gut, so that is something to work on. My next big race is the Brooklyn half which I'll be running with my pal Christi so hopefully that will be more fun with a friend.

Next month, will be the ASIFA Awards. I spent a good deal of time preparing digital entries for the judging nights, though I had to miss all of them because of my teaching schedule. I do know that we really had a great selection of films so I'm really looking forward to the awards.

Be there or be square.

Lastly, Dayna Gonzalez and myself will be doing the signal film for the awards night so I'm excited for how that will turn out. Onward!
